Essential Functions
- Conduct Metals Testing using advanced instruments like ICP-AES and ICP-MS following EPA methods.
- Mercury Analysis: Implement methods 7471b and 245.1.
- Data Validation & Reporting: Validate results and prepare detailed reports.
- Instrument Maintenance: Calibrate, troubleshoot, and optimize laboratory equipment.
- Sample Processing: Ensure accurate sample preparation and adhere to strict QA/QC standards.
- Method Development: Assist in refining and improving metals analysis methods.
- Mentorship: Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work aligns with industry standards and company protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in a general chemistry lab or 1 year in a specialized lab.
- Proven expertise in EPA methods: 29, 306, SW-846 0060 & 0061, 5, 17, 201A, 202, 200.8, 6020, 245.1, 1631.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient with CVAAS, ICP/OES, ICP/MS.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Comprehensive understanding of laboratory safety protocols.
