Alliance Technical Group, a leading provider of environmental testing and analysis solutions in Mountainside, NJ, is seeking an Environmental Laboratory Analyst to join our team.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Applying Quality Program Requirements:
    • Responsible for applying the requirements of the Quality Program to the analyses they perform.
  • Quality Control Management:
    • Evaluate QC data and initiate corrective action for quality control deficiencies within their control.
    • Implement corrective actions as directed by superiors.
    • Competitive pay range of $20-$22 per hour,

Duties:
  • Laboratory Operations:
    • Prepare test solutions and reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests.
    • Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, and reactions, utilizing chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques by following the respective SOP.
    • Compile and analyze test information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency and to diagnose malfunctions.
    • Direct, coordinate, and advise personnel in test procedures for analyzing components and physical properties of materials.
  • Technical Operations:
    • Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods.
  • Data Management:
    • Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data or process information.
    • Enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
  • Reporting:
    • Report to the Department Supervisor.

  • Equipment Management:
    • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
    • Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
    • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Problem Sensitivity:
    • The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong (It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem).
  • Scientific Knowledge:
    • Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.
    • Knowledge of the uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
  • Analysts are initially qualified by education with a minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry, Physical and/or Biological Sciences.
